This Acceptable Use Policy defines permitted and prohibited uses of the Silicon Valley North websites, mobile apps, software, APIs, hosted services, and related products or services owned or operated by SV North Technologies Inc. (doing business as Silicon Valley North).

1. Purpose
This policy forms part of the legal framework governing use of Silicon Valley North services and should be read together with the End User License Agreement and Privacy Policy. All users must comply with this policy at all times when accessing or using a covered service.
2. Permitted use
Our services may be used only for lawful, ethical, and legitimate business or personal purposes. Users must ensure that content, data, workflows, destinations, automations, communications, and activities conducted through the service:
- Comply with all applicable laws, regulations, and contractual obligations.
- Do not harm, deceive, exploit, or unfairly manipulate others.
- Respect privacy, intellectual property, confidentiality, and security rights.
- Align with generally accepted standards of responsible business conduct.
3. Prohibited uses
You may not use a covered service for or in connection with any of the following.
3.1 Illegal activity
- Promoting, facilitating, or engaging in unlawful conduct.
- Offering goods or services that are illegal where offered, distributed, or used.
- Violating sanctions, export controls, consumer protection rules, advertising rules, or other applicable regulations.
3.2 Fraud, deception, and manipulation
- Phishing, impersonation, misrepresentation, social engineering, or scams.
- Misleading users about the source, destination, purpose, or consequences of an interaction.
- Fabricating engagement, falsifying metrics, or otherwise manipulating trust or reporting.
3.3 Harmful, abusive, or unsafe content
- Harassment, threats, abuse, intimidation, or exploitation.
- Content promoting violence, self-harm, or harm to persons, groups, animals, property, or public safety.
- Malware, spyware, ransomware, harmful code, or unsafe technical behavior.
3.4 Prohibited industries and content categories
- Pornographic or sexually exploitative material.
- Illegal drugs or controlled substances, or unlawful promotion thereof.
- Weapons, firearms, or restricted items where unlawful or inconsistent with our standards.
- Hate speech, extremist material, terrorist content, or propaganda.
- Any business, campaign, or content that we determine is unethical, deceptive, exploitative, or harmful.
3.5 Privacy and data misuse
- Collecting, sharing, selling, scraping, or disclosing personal information without a lawful basis or proper notice.
- Tracking or profiling individuals in a deceptive, undisclosed, or unlawful way.
- Attempting to obtain credentials, private data, or confidential information without authorization.
3.6 Security abuse and unauthorized access
- Attempting to gain unauthorized access to systems, accounts, networks, or data.
- Testing vulnerabilities, probing systems, or conducting attacks without express written authorization.
- Reverse engineering, rate-limit abuse, denial-of-service behavior, or actions that degrade service performance or reliability.
3.7 High-risk use
- Using a service as the sole basis for decisions in situations where failure could reasonably result in death, serious bodily injury, or severe physical, financial, or environmental harm, unless the service is expressly documented by us for that use.
3.8 Reputational harm
- Using a service in a way that may materially harm the reputation of Silicon Valley North, its users, its partners, or the public.
- Associating our services with conduct or content that conflicts with our ethical standards.
4. Enforcement
We reserve the right, in our sole discretion and to the extent permitted by law, to investigate suspected violations, suspend or restrict access, remove or disable content, reject transactions, terminate accounts, or report unlawful conduct to relevant authorities.
Where appropriate, violations may result in immediate suspension or termination without prior notice and without refund.

6. Interpretation and discretion

We may update this policy from time to time. Continued use of the service after the effective date of an updated version constitutes acceptance of the updated policy unless applicable law requires otherwise.
